Watkins captures IAC title

WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen varsity volleyball team won the Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) Large School Championship, Friday, Oct. 28 at the Watkins Glen Field House. The Senecas beat Trumansburg 3-2. Watkins won the first game 25-21, but then lost the next two 23-25 and 24-26. Watkins then rallied for 25-23 and 25-16 wins for the title.
For Watkins, Amanda Pike had five aces, four blocks, nine digs and 30 kills. Mariah Gonzalez contributed 23 kills with three aces, two blocks and 27 digs. Hanley Elliott added 18 digs and 50 assists. Megan Hazlitt had 16 digs and six aces.
