June 12:
Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team lost to Cold Spring Harbor in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association semi-final game, Friday, June 7 at SUNY Cortland. The final score was 18-4. Bailey Cooper posted two goals and one assist, while Makenna Mullins added two goals. At left, is Aubriana Green on defense for the Mustangs and at right is Makenna Mullins battling on offense.

Local athletes advance to top levels of competition
Penn Yan’s JD Tette placed third in Division II at the New York state track and field championships for steeplechase. He also qualified for New Balance Nationals next weekend in Philadelphia.
Connor Andersen represented Penn Yan at the U.S. High School Bowling National Championship in Lancaster, Pa. He had a four-game total of 731 that included a high game of 237. Andersen placed 221st.
Mason Bush captured the New York state individual trap shooting championship, Sunday, June 9. He shot a 99 overall. Bush will be headed to Mason, Michigan in July to compete in the USA High School Clay Target League National Championships.
 
June 6:

Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team will compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association semi-final game, Friday, June 7, after winning the regional game, Saturday, June 1. The Mustangs defeated Gowanda, 17-4.
Leading the team was Bailey Cooper with six goals and two assists. Ruby Berry, Taylor Mullins and Makenna Mullins each had two goals. Corinne Barden, Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger and Miley Andersen all posted one goal and one assist. Gianna Voigt added one goal and two assists.
Game time is 11 a.m. vs. Cold Spring Harbor at Cortland.
The girls captured the Section V Class D title, Tuesday, May 28 at Finger Lakes Community College. Penn Yan won over Pal-Mac, 11-8. Cooper recorded five points, three goals and two assists. Miranda-Wiltberger added four goals in the game. Marion Wheeler made four saves in the goal.
The tournament MVP was Taylor Mullins. Also honored post-game were Aubriana Green, Miranda-Wiltberger, Cooper and coach Chris Hansen.

Track and Field
Penn Yan track and field athletes participated in the state qualifier at Newark, Saturday, June 1. Top finishers were:
• James Tette - first - 1600 Meter Run (4:21.93)
• 4x800 meter relay - second
• Lydia Sciallo - fourth - discus
• Anthony Sciallo - fifth - shot put
• Anthony Wheeler - sixth - 800 meter run

Dundee/Bradford
Softball
The Dundee-Bradford softball team fell to the Bloomfield Bombers, Wednesday, May 29. The final score was 3-0 in the game which decided the Class C representative for the state tournament.
Morgan Sutryk and Maddie Knapp each had a hit in the game, including a double for Sutryk.
Addie Kendall and Sutryk each pitched for the BraveScots, striking out two and four batters respectively.

Track and Field
Track and field athletes for Dundee-Bradford competed in the state qualifier at Newark, Saturday, June 1. The results included:
• Kendall Parker - seventh - 100 meter dash and ninth - high jump
• 4x100 Meter Relay - eighth
• Peyton Mullin - 12th - shot put and ninth - discus
• Brayden Rider - 12th - pentathlon

Track and Field
Hammondsport's standout steeplechase athlete, Emmy O'Neill, took ninth in the New York state qualifier at Newark, Saturday, June 1.
 
Odessa-Montour Track
Odessa-Montour's David Patterson competed in the Section IV State Qualifiers at Union-Endicott high school, Thursday, May 30.
He was second overall with 2,820 points. Patterson was third in the 110 meter hurdles, fifth in the shot put, fourth in the high jump, second in the long jump and second in the 1,500 meter run.
Jalen Reardon of Sidney won the event.
 
May 29:
Dundee/Bradford
Softball
The Dundee-Bradford softball team won the Section V Class C2 tournament, Saturday, May 25 against Caledonia-Mumford, 4-3. The game went into the bottom of the 11th inning at Fillmore.
The teams were tied at 2-2 at the end of the seventh to force extra innings. If a game reaches the 10th inning, an automatic runner is placed on second base to help increase the odds of a scoring play. Both teams get an opportunity to bat in that scenario.
In the 10th, both Cal-Mum and Dundee-Bradford scored one run, bringing the game to 3-3. The championship title was decided in the bottom of the 11th. Kailey Yeoman was at the plate with Maddie Knapp on third. The third strike was dropped by the catcher resulting in a throw to first which allowed Knapp to go home and be ruled safe. The dugout cleared and celebration for the BraveScots ensued.
Adalyn Tham had a double in the game. Addie Kendall, Madison Sutryk and Korrin Yeoman each had RBIs. Madison Sutryk led the team with three hits.
Relief pitcher Morgan Sutryk went for eight innings, striking out six and recorded the win. Kendall was on the mound for the first three innings with five strikeouts.
Morgan Sutryk was named the MVP at the conclusion of the game.
Dundee-Bradford will play Bloomfield to determine the representative for Class C in the state bracket, Tuesday, May 28.
The BraveScots reached the final game by winning over Alexander, 7-6, in 10 innings, Thursday, May 23. The game was decided with a walk-off two-run homer by Mikayla Schoffner.
Kailey Yeoman was 3-for-4 in the game with a triple. Madison Sutryk was also 3-for-4, recording a double.
Pitching in the game were Kendall, Tham and Sutryk.

Track and Field
Dundee hosted the Section V Class B4 track and field championships, Friday, May 24. The 4x100 relay team of Madison Hughes, Riley Stinson, Charlotte Schuerholz and Kendall Parker won with a record time of 52.26. Parker also set a record in the 100 meter dash with a 12.84. Marleigh Parker set a school record in the pole vault of 7' 6".
Parker was also second in the 100 meter dash with a 12.84 and second in the high jump. Peyton Mullin took second in the shot put.

Penn Yan
Boys Lacrosse
The Penn Yan boys lacrosse team fell in the Section V finals, Sunday, May 26 at FLCC against Aquinas. The game was delayed from Saturday due to thunderstorms in the area.
The Mustangs lost 14-11. Teagan Fingar, Braden Fingar and Mike Gigliotti each had two goals and two assists. Also scoring two goals were Bryant VanHousen and Collin Bacher. Tukker Fisher posted one goal. Aiden Griffiths had 14 saves in the goal.
Penn Yan beat Mynderse, 14-3, to reach the finale on Wednesday. Fisher led with five goals.  Braden Fingar earned four goals and two assists. Griffiths made six saves.

Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team will play for the Section V title against Pal-Mac on Tuesday, May 28. The team reached that game by winning over Aquinas, 19-3, Wednesday, May 22. Bailey Cooper had three goals and two assists. Gianna Voigt also posted three goals in the game.  Corinne Barden added two goals and three assists, while Taylor Mullins had two goals and one assist.

Baseball
The Penn Yan baseball team lost to North Rose-Wolcott in the Section V Class B tournament, Monday, May 20. The final score was 8-2.

Softball
The Penn Yan softball team lost to top-seeded Haverling, 3-2, in the sectional semifinals, Thursday, May 23.
The team won against Mynderse, 6-5, Tuesday, May 21. Giana Ficcaglia had 15 strikeouts in the game. At the plate, Hailey Trank had a home run and Leah Prather recorded a double and triple.

Track and Field
Penn Yan competed at the Section V Class B2 championships, Friday, May 24.
Winning for the Mustangs were: Anthony Wheeler (800 meter run) and James Tette (1,600 meter run, 3,200 meter run and 3,000 meter steeplechase).
Other top finishers were: Anthony Sciallo (second - shot put), Lydia Sciallo (second - discus) and the boys 4x800 meter relay (second).  

Hammondsport
Track and Field
Hammondsport participated at the Section V Class B5 championships, Thursday, May 23.
Top finishers included: Emmy O'Neill (first - 2,000 meter steeplechase), Isaiyah Ali (second - 400 meter hurdles) and Justin Wise (second - high jump).

Baseball
The Schuyler Storm baseball team lost to Oneonta, 8-0, Wednesday, May 22. Alex Holmes struck out nine pitching.

Softball
The Watkins Glen softball team fell to Susquehanna Valley, 10-5, Tuesday, May 21.

Track and Field
The Watkins Glen track and field team competed at the Section IV Class C title meet, Wednesday, May 22.
Natalee Oliver took second in the 800 meter run. Kyren Young was third in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash.

ODESSA-MONTOUR
Track and Field
The Odessa-Montour track and field team participated at the Section IV Class D championships, Wednesday, May 22. David Patterson was first in the triple jump, second in the 110 meter hurdles and second in the long jump. Jed Lynch was first in the pole vault. Brody Williams won the discus event. Maggie Pentz finished third in the discus.

Baseball
The Dundee-Bradford baseball team won over Marcus Whitman, 14-3, Wednesday, May 15. Alex Goltry went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Eli Raplee was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Aiden Monell, Jeremy Stiles, Nathan Kiskaden, and Caleb Semans each added two RBIs off of hits.
Jeremy Stiles threw all six innings, giving up four hits and striking out six.

Softball
The Dundee-Bradford softball team defeated Marcus Whitman 20-1, Wednesday, May 15. The BraveScots finished the regular season with a 14-1 record and are the number one seed for sectionals.
In the game, Adalyn Tham had three hits at the plate, all singles and three RBIs. On the mound, she struck out six. Addie Kendall, Maddie Knapp and Kailey Yeoman each had multiple hits during the game and each recorded a triple at bat.
The team also beat Marcus Whitman, 17-0, Tuesday, May 14. Mikayla Schoffner was 3-for-3. Mckenna Miller, Tham, Madison Sutryk, Yeoman and Knapp each collected multiple hits for Dundee-Bradford.
The girls also beat Watkins Glen, Monday, May 13. The final score was 7-2.

Track and Field
Dundee traveled to East Rochester to compete in the Wayne Finger Lakes Track & Field Championships, Monday, May 13.
Winning at the event were: Kendall Parker (100 meter dash) and Peyton Mullin (shot put). Aidan Webster was second in the discus event. Marleigh Parker took second in the pole vault. Ryan Longmore finished third in the shot put.

Penn Yan
Boys Lacrosse
The Penn Yan boys lacrosse team lost to Fairport, 8-5, Thursday, May 16. Braden Fingar posted three goals for the Mustangs. Teagan Fingar had one goal and two assists. Tukker Fisher added one goal. Jaxon Jensen made 10 saves in the goal.

Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team won against Honeoye Falls-Lima, Thursday, May 16. The final score was 10-8. Bailey Cooper led with five goals. Corinne Barden added two. Goalie Marion Wheeler posted four saves.
The Mustangs won beat Schroeder, 15-3, Tuesday, May 14. Cooper and Barden each had four goals.  Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger, Miley Andersen and Makenna Mullins all posted two goals each.

Baseball
The Penn Yan baseball team began their sectional run with a win over Midlakes, 3-0, Friday, May 17. The boys also topped Midlakes earlier in the week, 8-7, Wednesday, May 15.

Softball
The Penn Yan softball team won, 11-0, against Livonia in the sectional pre-quarter round, Saturday, May 18. On the mound, Giana Ficcaglia recorded 15 strikeouts. At the plate, she had was 4-for-4 with two triples. Hailey Trank added a triple and double in the game, while Julia Maldonado was 3-for-3 with two singles.
The softball team lost to Midlakes, 6-3, Wednesday, May 15. It was senior night for pitcher Giana Ficcaglia and catcher Hailey Trank. Ficcaglia posted 13 strikeouts and had a double at the plate.
A few days earlier, on Monday, the Mustangs beat Midlakes 6-0. Trank had a grand slam two-run homer in the game. Ficcaglia recorded 11 strikeouts pitching.

Track and Field
Penn Yan hosted the Wayne Finger Lakes Track & Field Championships, Monday, May 13. Winning at the event were: Lydia Sciallo (discus), Anthony Wheeler (800 meter run), James Tette (1,600 meter run and 3,200 meter run) and Anthony Sciallo (shot put).

Hammondsport
Baseball
The Hammondsport baseball team had four games last week. On Friday against Naples, the Lakers lost 5-3. Earlier in the week, they lost to Avoca-Prattsburgh (18-8), beat Lima Christian 10-7, and fell to Andover-Whitesville, 7-6.

Softball
The Hammondsport softball team lost to Keshequa, 23-0, Saturday, May 18. The girls also lost to Avoca-Prattsburgh (22-2) and Andover-Whitesville (13-0) last week.

WATKINS GLEN
Softball
The Watkins Glen softball team defeated Whitney Point, 12-2, Thursday, May 16 in the first round of sectionals. The team will now advance to face Susquehanna Valley.

Track and Field
The Watkins Glen track and field team competed at the IAC meet in Trumansburg, Wednesday and Thursday last week.
Top-five finishes were recorded by: Natalee Oliver (first - 800 meter run and second - 1,500 meter run), Rachel Vickio (first - discus), Kyren Young (third - 100 meter dash and third - 200 meter dash) and Johnny VanScoyk (third - 3,200 meter run).

ODESSA-MONTOUR
Track and Field
The Odessa-Montour track and field team competed in the IAC meet at Trumansburg, Wednesday and Thursday last week. Top finishers included: David Patterson (first - pentathlon, second - 400 meter hurdles, third - long jump, third - triple jump and fourth - 110 meter hurdles), Paisley Jezorski (second - 800 meter run), Maggie Pentz (third - discus) and Brody William (fifth - discus).

The Dundee-Bradford baseball team won against Eugenio Maria, 26-0, Thursday, May 9. Jeremy Stiles threw a five-inning complete game with nine strikeouts, giving up only two hits.
Dundee-Bradford recorded 24 hits on the night, including six doubles.
Alex Goltry went 5-for-5 with two doubles and seven RBIs. Chris Clancey was 4-for-4 with two doubles and Aiden Monell went 3-for-4. Bryce Neu recorded three RBIs and was 2-for-2.
The BraveScots beat South Seneca, 14-5, Wednesday, May 8. Freshman Caleb Semans got the win. He threw six innings, allowed five runs, and struck out seven. Nathan Kiskaden went 3-for-5 with a double. Goltry was 2-for-4, as was Clancey. Zach Grant had a triple, while Joey Torpy and Stiles added singles.

Softball
The Dundee-Bradford softball team won against South Seneca/Romulus, Wednesday, May 8. The final score was 19-5. Addie Kendall and Madison Sutryk both had three hits in the game. Maddie Knapp and Mikayla Schoffner each had three RBIs. Schoffner recorded a home run at the plate.
The team won against Honeoye, 6-0, Monday, May 6. Kailey Yeoman was 3-for-3.

Track and Field
At a rainy and cold meet at South Seneca last week, Ryan Longmore threw 36' 8.5" in shot put, and Peyton Mullin threw 99' 1" in the discus. Both personal records. Aiden Webster also had a personal record in discus with 109' 7".
Mullin won both shot put and discus in the 17-team invitational.

Penn Yan
Boys Lacrosse
The Penn Yan boys lacrosse team won against Hamburg, 9-6, Saturday, May 11. Scoring two goals were: Levi Fisher, Braden Fingar, Teagan Fingar and Bryant VanHousen. Jaxon Jensen had seven saves in the goal.
The Mustangs won over Churchville-Chili, 12-5, Thursday, May 9.  Brody Keech scored four goals. Teagan Fingar recorded one goal and six assists. Braden Fingar netted three goals and posted one assist. Jensen tallied 14 saves in the cage.
The team fell to Carthage, 9-8, Monday, May 6. The go-ahead goal was recorded with only 12 seconds left in the game. Teagan Fingar had three goals and one assist. Fisher posted two goals and two assists.

Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team won against Mercy, 9-8, Friday, May 10. Bailey Cooper led with five goals and two assists, while also recording her 200th career goal during the game. Taylor Mullins and Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger each posted one goal and two assists. Goalie Marion Wheeler had three saves.
Penn Yan defeated Spencerport, 10-9, Monday, May 6. Cooper had four goals, while Corinne Barden earned two and Miranda-Wiltberger added two goals and two assists. Wheeler made seven saves.

Baseball
The Penn Yan baseball team won against Geneva, 8-3, Saturday, May 11. Also last week, the team won against Waterloo 3-0 and 6-0, while also topping Pal-Mac 8-6.

Softball
The Penn Yan softball team competed in the Mudville Tournament, Saturday, May 11.
In game one against Saranac, Giana Ficcaglia had 15 strikeouts in the Mustangs 2-1 win. Ficcaglia also had a triple at the plate. In the second game, Penn Yan lost 16-1 against Windsor. Ficcaglia posted a triple at-bat.
Penn Yan won against Waterloo, Wednesday, May 8. The final score was 12-4. Ficcaglia had 17 strikeouts pitching. Morgan Breuer was 5-for-5 at the plate. Hailey Trank was 4-for-4.
The softball team also won on Tuesday against Waterloo, 14-5. Ficcaglia earned 17 strikeouts. Breuer was 5-for-5 at the plate.

Track and Field
Penn Yan hosted teams from around the region, Tuesday, May 7 for a track and field invitational.   Anthony Wheeler took first in the 800 meter run. James Tette was first in the 1,600 meter run.  Cynthia Kriegar won the shot put and discus events. Anthony Sciallo was first in the boys shot put and second in the discus. Austin Race won the boys long jump. Dominic Proietti-Nelsen was first in the triple jump. Eva Smith was second in the 800 meter run. Jenna Reynolds took second in the 3,000 meter run. Lydia Sciallo finished second in the discus throw.

Boys Tennis
Penn Yan (10-3) beat Newark, 4-1, Wednesday, May 8 in Newark. Winning in the match were Landon Spears, Nathaniel Chaffee, Aidan Dallos and Jarrett Hollister/Colin Alexander.
The Mustangs won against Avoca-Prattsburgh by a score of 4-1, Tuesday, May 7. Victories for Penn Yan were secured by Chaffee, Dallos, Hollister/Alexander and Finnegan Hanley/Nicholas Spofford-Xavier.

Hammondsport
Baseball
The Hammondsport baseball team played a doubleheader at Alfred Almond, Saturday, May 11. They lost to A-A, 19-9 and Arkport-Canaseraga, 19-1.
The team fell to Naples, 7-5, Thursday, May 9. Earlier in the week, the Lakers were defeated by Arkport-Canaseraga (19-4) and Lima Christian (14-6).

Softball
The Hammondsport softball team lost to Alfred-Almond, 18-3, Saturday, May 11. In a doubleheader with Arkport-Canaseraga, Friday, May 10, the Lakers fell 21-0 and 21-5. Hammondsport also lost to Naples, 18-1, Tuesday, May 7.

Track and Field

The Watkins Glen lacrosse team fell to  Seton Catholic, 16-6, Saturday, May 11. Nick D'Alleva had four goals and one assist. He also marked this 100th career goal during the game.
Sam Hohle and Nick Ritter each had one goal.
The Lake Hawks fell to Whitney Point, 16-3, Wednesday, May 8. D’Alleva had two goals and Ritter, one.
The lacrosse team also lost to Windsor, 18-7, Monday, May 6. D’Alleva posted five goals and two assists. Ritter and Hohle each had one goal and one assist. Chris Simiele recorded two assists. Aiden Nichols made 13 saves in the goal.

Track and Field
The Watkins Glen track and field team participated in the Marathon Spring Fling, Wednesday, May 8. Top finishers included: Kyren Young (first - 200 meter dash and second - 100 meter dash), Johnny VanScoyk (first - 1,600 meter run and third - 3,200 meter run), Quacey Wilt (first - long jump), Natalee Oliver (first - 800 meter run and second - 1,500 meter run), Watkins Glen
Rachel Vickio (first - discus) and Isaac Hendrickson (third - 800 meter run).

The Odessa-Montour track and field team competed in the Wellsville Invitational, Saturday, May 11.
Brody William was first in the discus throw with a 128' 2". Leah Antes was fourth in the triple jump. David Patterson took fourth in the long jump. Jed Lynch finished fourth in the pole vault.

The Dundee-Bradford baseball team won against Naples, Thursday, May 2. The final score was 8-2. Aiden Monell, Nathan Kiskaden, Jeremy Stiles, Alex Goltry, Chris Clancey, Caleb Semans and Joey Fiorilla had hits on the night. Zach Grant went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Jeremy Stiles pitched a complete game with four strikeouts, allowing six hits and two runs.

Softball
The Dundee-Bradford softball team beat Naples, 15-3, Thursday, May 2. Korrin Yeoman had three hits and four RBIs in the game. McKenna Miller also posted four RBIs on two hits. Morgan Sutryk had three RBIs and a triple.
On the mound, Addie Kendall had five strikeouts.

The Mustangs lost to Thomas, Thursday, May 2. The final score was 9-7.  Bryant VanHousen and Fisher each had two goals. Teagan Fingar added one goal and two assists. Jensen made four saves.

The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team won against Waterloo 16-2, Friday, May 3.  Bailey Cooper posted three goals and one assist, while Corinne Barden had two goals and three assists. Also with two goals were:  Taylor Mullins, Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger and Makenna Mullins. Marion Wheeler and  Megan Wheeler had two saves each.

Baseball
The Penn Yan baseball team lost to Hornell 12-5, Saturday, May 4. The team also fell to
Newark, 15-5, Friday, May 3.
The team won against Newark, Wednesday, May 1 with a score of 9-7.

Softball
The Penn Yan softball team won against Newark, Wednesday, May 1. The final score was 15-0, with pitcher Giana Ficcaglia throwing a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts. Ficcaglia also had a single and a double at the plate. Julia Maldonado recorded a single and double.
The softball team lost to Wellsville, 9-0, Tuesday, April 30. Ficcaglia had eight strikeouts. Morgan Breuer was 3-for-4 at the plate.

Track and Field

On Penn Yan's senior night, Friday, May 3, the Mustangs (8-3) defeated Newark by a score of 4-1. At first singles, senior Landon Spears (PY) beat Cole Tallbot 6-1, 6-2. Other winners included: Nathaniel Chaffee, Aidan Dallos and Brady Mcloud/Finnegan Hanley.

The Hammondsport baseball team lost to Andover-Whitesville, 12-9, Saturday, May 4. The team also lost to Genesee Valley-Belfast (17-0), Canisteo-Greenwood (22-1), Campbell-Savona (22-7) and South Seneca/Romulus (12-2) last week.

The Hammondsport softball team lost to Genesee Valley-Belfast, 16-1, Thursday, May 2. The Lakers fell to Canisteo-Greenwood/Jasper-Troupsburg, 12-10 and Campbell-Savona, 21-2, last week.

The Hammondsport track and field team competed at Dundee, Friday, May 3. Top finishers included:  Loretta Oliver (third - 400 meter hurdles), Emmy O'Neill (first - 2,000 meter steeplechase), the girls 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams, Orion Davis (fourth - 800 meter run), Zach Doyle (1,600 meter run), the boys 4x400 meter relay team, Justin Wise (first - high jump) and Isaiyah Ali (second - pentathlon).

The Schuyler Storm baseball team won three games and lost one last week.
At Geneva, the team fell 7-6. In the fifth inning, the Storm scored five runs on three hits. Brady Bockelcamp drove in two.
Alex Holmes struck out five on the mound and had two hits at the plate.
The baseball team won against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor, 10-7, Friday, May 3. Andrew Coston drove in four runs on two hits to lead the team. Coston, Brady Cannon, Gavin Lohmeyer and Ben Heichel each had two hits in the game.
The boys won against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor, Monday, April 29. The final score was 13-0. Cannon drove in four runs on three hits. He had a home run in the fourth inning. Holmes also had three hits and four stolen bases.

Softball
The Watkins Glen softball team won against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor, 9-3, Friday, May 3. Pitcher Paige Ells, an eighth grader, reached 100 strikeouts on the season, with 14 in the game.
The team lost to Spencer-Van Etten/Candor, 6-4, Wednesday, May 1, and also fell to them, 1-0, Monday, April 29.

Lacrosse
The Watkins Glen lacrosse team fell to Notre Dame, 21-8, Wednesday, May 1. Nick D'Alleva posted three goals and one assist. Chris Simiele had two goals and one assist. Other goals were scored by Sam Hohle, Nick Ritter and Liam Smith. Aiden Nichols had 17 saves in the goal.

Track and Field
The Watkins Glen track and field team competed at Odessa's Legends of the Night invitational, Friday, May 3. The Dundee-Bradford track team competed in a meet at South Seneca on Tuesday, April 23. Results included: Kendall Parker took first in the 100 and second in the high jump. Charlotte Schuerholz was second in the 400. Olivia Cole, Marley Duffy, Olivia Wheeler and Marleigh Parker took second in the 4x400 relay. Olivia Cole finished third in the long jump. Peyton Mullin was first in the shot put.
Logan Curtis recorded a second-place finish in the 400. Hamilton Iszard, Brayden Rider, Aidan Webster and Logan Curtis took third in the 4x100 relay. Iszard was also first in the high jump. Brayden Rider was third in the long jump and Brody Ryan placed third in the discus.

Boys Lacrosse
The Penn Yan boys lacrosse team lost to Canandaigua, 7-5, Saturday, April 27. Teagan Fingar had two goals and one assist. Tukker Fisher, Bryant VanHousen and Greyson Hathway each scored once. Jaxon Jensen had 12 saves.
The Mustangs won against Homer, Tuesday, April 23. The final score was 8-7. Teagan Fingar recorded five goals and two assists. Mike Gigliotti, Braden Fingar and Brody Keech all had one goal. Jensen posted nine saves.

Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team fell to Canandaigua, 7-3, Saturday, April 27. Bailey Cooper recorded two goals and Corinne Barden had one. Marion Wheeler made five saves in the cage.
The girls defeated Horseheads, Tuesday, April 23. The final score was 17-4. Cooper led with four goals and three assists. Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger added three goals and two assists, while Taylor Mullins also posted three goals. Wheeler had three saves in 48 minutes in the goal.

Softball
Penn Yan competed in a doubleheader against Wayne, Friday, April 26.
In the first game, Penn Yan won 4-0. Giana Ficcaglia posted 19 strikeouts on the mound. She had a triple at bat. Hailey Trank was 3-for-4 at the plate.
In the second game, the Mustangs won 2-1. Ficcaglia recorded 11 strikeouts. Maddie Breuer, Leah Prather and Trank were all 3-for-3 at the plate.
The girls fell to Mynderse, 7-6, Tuesday, April 23. Morgan Breuer and Abby Fischer were 4-for-5 at the plate.

The Schuyler Storm baseball team won against Whitney Point, Saturday, April 27. The final score was 13-3. Connor Foggie struck out seven and only gave up one hit. Ben Heichel also struck out seven on the mound. WG-OM had 11 hits in the game. Tyler Gulini recorded three RBIs.
The baseball team also won against Greene, 8-2, Friday, April 26. Alex Holmes had three hits for the Storm. Brad Gillis struck out 10.
The baseball team lost to Lansing, 5-3, Wednesday, April 24. Heichel was 3-for-4 in the game. Holmes added two hits and three stolen bases.
The Storm also won against Dryden, Monday, April 22. The final score was 17-1. Heichel posted a no-hitter in the game on the mound. Brady Cannon was 4-for-5 at the plate and had three RBIs. Brady Bockelcamp also posted three RBIs.

Baseball
The Dundee-Bradford baseball team beat Eugenio Maria DeHostos Charter with a score of 28-0 in five innings.
The BraveScots had 15 hits, including four extra-base hits.
Freshman Caleb Semans threw a no-hitter in his first varsity appearance on the mound. He also struck out 10. Semans went 3-for-5 at the plate.
The BraveScots won 13-6 in 5 1/2 innings against South Seneca, Wednesday, April 17. The game was called for darkness.
Aiden Monell went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Jeremy Stiles was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Alex Goltry went 2-for-4 with six RBIs including a double and a three-run homer.
Jeremy Stiles had five strikeouts on the mound.
The baseball team also won against Naples, 19-9, Tuesday, April 16.
With the team down 9-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the BraveScots put 16 runs on the board (10 with two outs) to mercy-rule Naples.
Chris Clancey was 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Alex Goltry posted four RBIs and was 4-for-5 at the plate with a double. Semans and Stiles also posted three RBIs each and had two hits.

Softball
The Dundee-Bradford softball team won against South Seneca-Romulus, Wednesday, April 17. The final score was 13-1. Recording two hits in the game were: Kailey Yeoman, Addie Kendall, Korrin Yeoman and McKenna Miller. Homeruns were posted by Morgan Sutryk and Miller.
The team lost to Addison, 9-5, Tuesday, April 16. No additional information was available.
The BraveScots won against Honeoye, 15-0, Monday, April 15. Korrin Keyman had a triple at the plate. Sutryk led with four RBIs. Kendall had five strikeouts.

Coach Brian Hobart claimed his 300th career win for Penn Yan as the Mustangs defeated Newark, 19-3, Thursday, April 18. Teagan Fingar scored four goals and posted five assists. Tukker Fisher also had four goals and one assist.

In the second game, Penn Yan won 5-3. Hailey Trank had a three-run home run. Ficcaglia was 2-for-3 and recorded six strikeouts on the mound.

At the plate, Sutryk had four RBIs, while Madison Sutryk and Tham had three each. Addie Kendall posted three hits.

The Dundee-Bradford baseball team lost to Red Jacket, 7-6, Wednesday, April 10. Aiden Monell went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, three stolen bases and three runs scored. Jeremy Stiles was 1-for-4 with a double, knocking in three RBIs.
On the mound, Stiles went 3 1/3 innings with five strikeouts, giving up three runs.

The Mustangs lost to HFL, 6-5, Thursday, April 11. Scoring goals were: Braden Fingar, Greyson Hathway, Collin Bacher, VanHousen and Tukker Fisher. Jensen made seven saves.
The lacrosse team won against Mynderse, Tuesday, April 9. The final score was 9-4.  Mike Gigliotti posted three goals. Braden Fingar and VanHousen each had two. Jensen had nine saves.

The lacrosse team also won against Geneva, Wednesday, April 10. The final score was 15-5. Cooper posted three goals and two assists. Taylor Mullins, Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger, Makenna Mullins and Miley Andersen each scored two goals.

The Penn Yan baseball team won against Geneva, 6-1, Tuesday, April 9. Brady Bouchard threw a complete game no-hitter with 19 strikeouts.

Odessa-Montour hosted a track meet, Tuesday, April 9. They beat both Candor and Tioga.
Jed Lynch was first in the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash. Lucas Barr was first in the 800 meter run. Jaden Bailor finished first in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter run. David Patterson took first in the long jump and triple jump. Brody William won the discus event.
Evelyn Zinger was first in the 400 meter dash and 100 meter hurdles. Paisley Jezorski won the 800 meter run. Olivia Barr was first in the 1,500 meter run. Leah Antes was the top finisher in the high jump and triple jump. Jackie Mace won the pole vault event. Ella Kramer was the top finisher in the shot put and discus events.

Greyson Hathway won 22 of 23 faceoffs and Jaxson Jensen made five saves in the goal.

Girls Lacrosse
The Penn Yan girls lacrosse team lost to Topsail, 10-9, during a game Friday, April 5 during spring break. Bailey Cooper scored seven goals.
The team beat River Bluff, 15-3, Thursday, April 4. Cooper posted four goals and three assists.  Taylor Mullins added three goals, while Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger and Gianna Voigt each had two.

Baseball
The Penn Yan baseball team traveled to Myrtle Beach to participate in The Ripken Experience over spring break last week.
The Mustangs faced a tough Raceland, Kentucky team, and lost 8-2. However, Brady Bouchard recorded his 300th career strikeout in the game with nine Ks total. He was also 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI. Liam Chapman and Matt Tones each scored one run.
"Coming in Raceland was 14-1 and 'one of the best high school baseball programs I've seen,'" said baseball coach Steve Bouchard. "Happy for Brady to achieve his 300th career strikeout against a great hitting team. We learned a lot as a team during this week which is why we came to Myrtle Beach. Younger guys get a chance to get their feet wet and help get prepared for the upcoming Finger Lakes schedule."
