WATKINS GLEN--The Watkins Glen Class of 2024 will present the delightful musical, “Alice in Wonderland,” March 22-24, at the Watkins Glen High School Auditorium, 301 12th Street in Watkins Glen.
This Netzel and Wolf version of “Alice in Wonderland,” based on the Lewis Carroll novel, will run Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students, $5 for children age 5-10, and will be available at the door.
Journey down the rabbit hole to a colorful, whimsical world with Alice, played by Kay Davis, who along the way befriends the Knave of Hearts, played by Nick Brusso, and is intrigued by the White Rabbit, played by Aurora Scott, the Cheshire Cat, played by Natalie VanSkiver, and the Caterpillar, played by Kaylin Smith.  She tangles with the Queen of Hearts, played by Lilac Cruz, and is puzzled by the tea party of the Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse, played by Aubree Rudy, Kylie Swan and Annabelle Thompson, respectively.  Among those coming and going so quickly through her encounters are the birds, portrayed by Trinity Barrett, Rylee Smith, Callie Tohafjian, Norah Stegner and Trinity Depree.
Along the way, Alice learns that “Nothing is Impossible,” and the audience is left wondering if her experiences were real or in her imagination.
Students from fifth to 12th grades have been rehearsing since January for this lesser-known version of the familiar story, which features original songs and a number of dance numbers in various styles.
Michelle and Tim Benjamin of Montour Falls are directing, with Sarah Matthews as Music Director. Costume Directors are Amanda Wood and Sarah Sutherland. The show is choreographed by student Natalie VanSkiver and Michelle Benjamin.
The producer is Sam Brubaker, and the show is presented by the Watkins Glen High School Class of 2024, by arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.
