There were several events over the weekend and on Monday to honor the meaning of Memorial Day - recognizing service members who have died protecting the United States. Penn Yan hosted a parade and service Monday morning. Dundee began its activities with a parade on Water and Main Streets. A service followed at the Seneca Street Park. Odessa Mayor and Army Lt. Col. (Ret.) Gerry Messmer was the featured speaker at Schuyler County’s services. Scouts from Troop 50 in Odessa presented the flag at the Veterans Memorial Park and the Odessa-Montour band played for attendees.
