Seneca Indians win third straight


WATKINS GLEN--The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Seneca Indians football team won their third straight game in a close 22-19 contest Saturday, Sept. 26. The team is now 3-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first quarter, Dryden got on the board first to go up 7-0 in the second quarter. The Seneca Indians would respond around a minute later to take an 8-7 lead following a successful two-point conversion. However, Dryden would take a 13-8 lead into halftime following a score with less than 30 seconds left on the clock.

Watkins took a 14-13 lead with 6:01 left on the third quarter. They extended their lead to 22-13 in the fourth quarter, but Dryden responded with a score of their own to reduce the lead to 22-19 with 9:09 left in the game. The Seneca Indians were able to hold Dryden and then run the clock to secure the 22-19 win.

Ryan Pruitt led the offense, rushing for the team's touchdowns and ensuing conversions.
