DUNDEE--The Dundee varsity football team extended their undefeated record to 4-0 with a 23-20 overtime victory over the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles during their homecoming game Saturday, Sept. 27. Jon Huber and Nolleen Whetham were named the homecoming king and queen during the day's events. Clyde began the game with the ball, but were forced to punt after a three-and-out. Dundee's offense capitalized on their first offensive drive with a one-yard touchdown run by senior running back Christopher Cramer after converting on a key fourth and four situation during the drive. Cramer contributed more than 30 yards on the drive. The score would stand at 6-0 Dundee after a failed extra-point attempt. Clyde's offense was forced to punt on their next drive, which senior wide receiver Jon Huber returned to Clyde's 10-yard line. Quarterback Justin Neu threw an interception on the next play to give the ball back to the Golden Eagles. Clyde took a 7-6 lead on a 73-yard touchdown pass. The Scots began their next offensive drive at their own 10-yard line following a penalty called on the kickoff. After being forced to punt, the Golden Eagles scored again on a 63-yard touchdown pass to go up 13-6. The Scots turned the ball over on downs their next offensive drive on a reverse that went for no gain. Clyde-Savannah had a third-consecutive scoring drive to go up 20-6 with 1:22 to go in the first half. Dundee began the second half with the football, but were again forced to punt. Senior lineman Bradley Smith came up with a fumble to give the Scots the ball again on the Clyde 33-yard line. The Golden Eagles recovered a fumble of their own on a fourth down conversion attempt. The next score came on a Huber 87-yard punt return for a touchdown. After a successful two-point conversion, the Scots pulled the score closer to 20-14. Huber added more points the following offensive drive with a 52-yard touchdown reception from Neu to tie the game at 20-20. The Golden Eagles started with the football going into overtime. The Dundee defense held Clyde on three plays, forcing the Eagles to attempt and miss a field goal on fourth down. The Scots also were held to a field goal attempt, which was made by freshman kicker Jovhannie Andrades to win the game 23-20.
